ITCRA Preferred Status

ITCRA has established 'preferred' status for contractor management services companies (CMSC) that provide accounting and tax services for contractors.

'Preferred' status is granted where a CMSC is prepared to commit itself to the professional and ethical standards of a specific agreement adopted by the Association for this sector of the industry.

The agreement provides that a Preferred CMSC will amongst other requirements:

1. Commit itself to promoting the ITCRA Code of Conduct
2. Disclose to ITCRA Secretariat proof of current Worker's Compensation, Professional Indemnity and Public Liability Insurance arrangements if requested
3. Provide full details of charges and services to contractors
4. Offer and actively promote IT Superas its preferred and default fund for its contractors
5. Comply with the spirit and letter of the laws in the state and country in which they are
   being applied, including:
   • ATO legislation and Commissioner rulings
   • DIMIA sponsoring employer undertakings
   • The Privacy Act (1988), especially as it pertains to the use of information about contractors
   • Payroll tax payments
   • Workers' Compensation
